MISSIONARIES SUPPORTED BY COVENANT RELATIONSHIPS IN FLORIDA
AFRICA
Serguey & Graciela Espinosa Serguey and Graciela Espinosa are missionaries of the Methodist Church in Cuba assigned to the East Angola United Methodist Conference. Dr. Graciela, an optometrist, works at the Quessua Clinic and provides support for the children's ministry of the Quessua Mission which reaches out to over 400 children with literacy and feeding programs, as well as Christian education. Dr. Serguey provides preventive dental care and treatment to an impoverished community where the lack of regular dental services too often leads to death. He also coordinates short-term mission teams from the Florida Conference that serve in Quessua. |
Kutela Katembo Advance #3022031 Kutela Katembo serves as agriculturist at the Quessua Mission in Angola, a historical center of Methodis that was almost totally destroyed in the three decades of civil war that finally ended in 2002. In the last few years, the Mission site, which includes a farm, has been restored. Quessua aims to produce enough food to feed its students and community. Kutela also works with the East Angola Annual Conference in evolving a sustainable agriculture policy. that can help to overcome hunger and poverty in the region. |
Cleivy Garcia Dr. Cleivy Garcia is a medical missionary of the Methodist Church in Cuba assigned to the East Angola Conference with responsibilities at the Quessua Mission near Malanje. Dr. Cleivy is funded by the covenant relationships within the Florida Conference. She serves as pediatrician at the Quessua Clinic and teaches at the School of Theology. Together with our Angolan partners, she provides support to the children's ministry of the Quessua Mission which reaches out to over 400 children with literacy and feeding programs, as well as Christian education. |
Leo Garcia Advance #3022182 Dr. Leo serves under the umbrella of the General Board of Global Ministries providing medical services at the Quessua Clinic and coordinating short-term mission teams of the Florida Annual Conference. Together with our Angolan partners, Dr. Leo provides support to the children's ministry of the Quessua Mission which reaches out to over 400 children with literacy and feeding programs, as well as Christian education. |
